How to resolve claimed listings or verification issues on EZlocal

If your EZlocal business listing is already claimed by another user or you cannot receive the verification PIN via text message or phone call, you can still gain ownership. This guide walks you through the troubleshooting steps and how to contact support.

Standard Verification Methods

When you claim or update a listing, EZlocal uses these three options:

  • Email Verification — A PIN is sent to any email address ending in @ezlocal.com or the business email on file.
  • Text Message / SMS — A PIN is sent to the phone number currently listed for the business.
  • Phone Call — An automated call delivers the PIN to the phone number on file.

What to Do If You Cannot Receive Text Messages or Phone Calls

  1. Try Email Verification first if you have access to a valid email address for the business.
  2. If email is also unavailable or you still need help, contact EZlocal Customer Support.

Email us at cs@ezlocal.com with the following information:

  • Direct link to your EZlocal business profile (example: https://ezlocal.com/co/fort-collins/dentist/091286936)
  • Full business name, address, and current phone number
  • Your full name and your role/position in the business or affiliation

What to Do If Your Listing Is Already Claimed by Another User

  1. Go to https://ezlocal.com/free-business-listing/.
  2. Enter the phone number for the business you want to claim (this is the primary way EZlocal locates your existing listing). The business name field is also required.
  3. If a matching listing is found for the phone number you entered, you will be directed to the Claim page.
  4. Enter your full name and email address.
    • If your email domain matches the business website (e.g., you@yourbusiness.com), your claim is automatically approved.
    • If the email domain does not match, you will be prompted to complete phone verification.
  5. Choose Send Text Message or Call Now to receive a PIN at the phone number currently on file for the listing.

If you cannot receive the text message or automated phone call, or if the claim is still blocked, email cs@ezlocal.com immediately with:

  • Direct link to your EZlocal business profile
  • Full business name, address, and current phone number
  • Your full name and role/position in the business or affiliation

Proof of ownership or affiliation may be required.

Support will manually review and transfer ownership to the rightful business owner (typically within 1–2 business days).

How to Update Your Business Phone Number (After Claiming)

Once you successfully verify ownership:

  1. Log in to your dashboard at dash.ezlocal.com.
  2. Select your business profile.
  3. Click Edit Business Information.
  4. Update the phone number (and any other details such as hours, description, or photos).
  5. Save your changes — updates usually go live immediately.
